Lionel Davis, a Psychologist with over 30 years’ experience, will lead this workshop. Lionel worked in the community for the first 10 years of his career with families and young people. He is a trained Family and Couples counsellor, a psychotherapist and consultant to many government and non-government organisations. Lionel was also the founder and Executive Director of the Australian College of Applied Psychology from 1989 to 2006.

Dhurva Davis is a Psychotherapist and Counsellor with over twenty years’ experience. She is an exceptional group facilitator and trainer and has worked in a number of agencies and in private practise. As a therapist and teacher, she has developed a unique ability to deeply relate to clients in a way that facilitates their change and learning.

Workshop format and fees

The workshop is delivered over a weekend - 2 days 9.00am to 5.00pm.  It can also be delivered as a 5 week program for one evening each week for 3 hours - 6.30pm to 9.30pm. 

The cost of the workshop is $395. You may reserve your place by payment of a $150 deposit. This deposit is non-refundable.  Mail your cheque to MindPsych PO Box 246 Potts Point NSW 1335. You can pay the balance at the first session. On receipt of your payment you will be sent further details of the venue, directions and parking arrangements. 

Workshop facilitator

Those who are currently in leadership roles or who aspire to leadership.

There will be no more than 20 in the workshop. This ensures that the group operates at its optimum and that individual concerns can be addressed

Successful leaders learn to manage themselves first. Only then are they in a position to take balanced decisions that are beneficial for the organisation they lead and all those concerned. Mindfulness is a practice that increases our self-awareness and strengthens our concentration. It also allows us to focus the mind on the tasks at hand and increases our confidence through feelings of calmness in the face of unusual stress.

This workshop develops mindfulness initially through the practise of meditation. It then takes this practice into situations in which leaders find themselves every day. Skills in using techniques based on mindfulness are developed that give leaders options for managing a wide range of challenges that are commonly confronted in organisational settings.

If you are a leader who aspires to inspire others through your example, then this workshop is designed for you. This workshop will help you:

. Acquire an awareness of self and others that gives you an array of options for managing common leadership dilemmas
